What is gBuy?
gBuy is a shopping feature built into the Liquid Noble app. Instead of selling your gold or silver yourself and paying for a product separately, you can shop directly with the metal you hold. You set the maximum price you are willing to pay, gBuy reserves the required metal against your order, and places the order automatically once your price is reached.
It works like a limit order, built for shopping instead of trading.
How does gBuy work?
You add items to your cart and, at checkout, choose the most you are willing to pay for your order. gBuy then tracks the value of your reserved metal against the price of your items. When the gap closes, Liquid Noble sells the required bullion and places your order on your behalf, with delivery arranged automatically.
For example, a television priced at AU$1,055 might require roughly 5.5 grams of gold at an illustrative price of AU$193.50 per gram. Instead, you could reserve about 4.9 grams of gold, worth roughly AU$950 at that price, and set your maximum purchase price against that smaller holding. If the value of your reserved gold later rises enough to cover the television's price, or the television's price drops, gBuy places the order.
Do I need gold or silver to rise in price?
No. Your order can execute however the gap between your reserved metal's value and the product's price closes. A rise in the metal price does the work on its own; so would a markdown on the product itself, or some combination of the two. You are not simply betting that gold will go up.
Am I selling my holdings?
When your order executes, Liquid Noble sells the portion of your holdings required to cover the order and uses the proceeds to fulfil it. The rest of your holdings are untouched, and you are not paid out in a currency and then making a separate purchase.
Do I pay anything while my order is waiting?
No. There is no charge while an order waits for your price to be reached, and you can cancel a pending order at any time before it executes.
Can I use gBuy to pay merchants outside of Liquid Noble?
No. gBuy works with the Liquid Noble catalogue: Liquid Noble supplies the goods and sells the reserved metal once your price is met. It is a way to shop using your gold or silver holdings within Liquid Noble, not a mechanism for paying merchants outside the platform.
